One of my favorite TV shows, Stranger Things, involves four teenage boys who discover an alternate dimension of reality they call “The Upside Down." This world is a mirror image of the physical world they all live in but with no human activity and only strange, dangerous creatures. It has existed for all of time, but it wasn’t until a girl named “Eleven” opened a portal to this world did it start to impact their daily lives. With this blog, I seek to open the portal of your mind to start thinking about our social interactions from a perspective you never thought of before.
Now I know what you’re thinking – ah, very clever metaphor for a blog premise, but realistically I’ll only read one blog post and then forget it ever existed. I mean, does he actually think that his thoughts are important enough to consistently interrupt my day and why are they even important in the first place? It is a little odd that he’s been writing for so long now from the reader’s perspective. Great, now I feel self-conscious that he is somehow reading my thoughts – dang it! I still don’t really know what this blog is about – like, what does “social interactions” even mean? I was expecting something religious or political, or at least something with a little more worldly purpose. I’m offended. It’s almost like there’s no eternal significance to what this guy is writing about.
Yep
I guess he is just writing about whatever social topics he wants and they could be randomly chosen
Absolutely
I think he is just writing for his enjoyment and doesn’t care if the reader finds it worthwhile at all
Without a doubt
It is pretty unique that he keeps going back and forth between the writer’s voice and the reader’s voice. Very clever.
Thank you, I really appreciate it when people recognize my work
Ok that’s messed up. Now he’s just complimenting himself and pretending it’s coming from other people
Your words, not mine
As you can tell, there’s not a lot of depth to this blog, so take it as seriously or not as seriously as you want. It’s simply a place for me to enjoy writing about The Stranger Things of life.
